Nike’s message of support and consolation to an England brought low by World Cup loss was embodied in director Nicholas Barker’s one-minute film, 'Condolence', wherein a melancholy surge of Britpop played against the simple naturalism and almost documentary stillness of his portraiture. Its final message: “Roll on.”

The first offering from Wieden & Kennedy’s London office, this strategic spot was nominated for a British Television Award.
