John McEnroe was always tough on the court. But at times, his fiery personality and self inflicted pressure made him his own worst adversary. So, to help him reflect on his career and finally enjoy it, Michelob ULTRA brought him back to face his toughest opponent: himself.

We created the first-ever real vs. virtual tennis event. On one side of the court, John McEnroe. On the other side, virtual John McEnroe: an A.R. MetaHuman created using the Unreal Engine and projected onto the real wrold with a high-res particle screen.

Proving the power of joy

Michelob ULTRA believes “It’s Only Worth It If You Enjoy It.” Courtside brought fans and athletes together to enjoy basketball during the pandemic in an innovative way. Now, in 2022, as athletes are publicly questioning the win-at-all-costs mentality, it was time to prove Michelob ULTRA’s joy belief in a new, even more impactful, and never-been-done-before way.
